The Merlin Conspiracy by Diana Wynne Jones
Big build up to a rather disappointing ending, but Diana Wynne Jones is still wonderful. The characterization of the two narrators are particularly well done, where you could randomly open a page and work out which one is telling the story without having to see the name written down. Not her best but still lots of fun.

The Ship Who Sang by Anne McCaffrey
An interesting science fiction idea, a human woman who is a brain whose body is a space ship, though I found Helva the ship a hard character to actually like, and the outcome is typical McCaffrey. Yes, even the space ships get paired up with a one true love.

Unseen Academicals by Terry Pratchett
Terry Pratchett books are always made of awesome, though some are made of more awesome than others. Unseen Academicals may not be a Night Watch, but it was better than Making Money. Slow to start, but once it got going the plot certainly cracked along. At first I was a bit dissapointed that it was mainy focusing on new characters, but by the end I had fallen head over heels in love with those new characters.
