I don't even watch Lost, but that made me laugh (though even though I don't watch it I do know that the polar bear at least was explained.)

(And if you change the names you get the finale of a certain series that I DID watch.)

Hmmmmm...

Is it cynical to wonder if vague Caprica spoilers ) has anything to do with the fact that the ratings are tanking?

Sure, now they play up the fact it's a BSG spinoff.

Now my Shaman healer is healing instances again, I am reminded that I turn into a raging bitch when I'm healing.

"Dammit it warlocks, stop life tapping you bastards, I need to keep mana too. Mages, if you keep aoeing during trash I'm not healing you if you pull aggro. Right, hunter that pulled aggro and then feigned death leaving things to gnaw on my face, no more heals for you and your little pet either! And dammit you can all wait on me drinking or no heals for you, I'm not wasting my water by having to get up when I've just started drinking and toss a hot on your impatient ass."

With the boomkin its all just "wheeee click wrath click wrath look at the pretty green balls of light click wrath oooh eclipse click starfire click starfire."

Oh BSG, why do you make me so bitter? Why can't it be the same as the X Files, sure I know I won't get a commitment and emotional support a mythology that makes sense and Scully back to her badass early seasons self, but I can still have a good time with it during rewatches.

But thinking about it, had I had a livejournal at the time of Closure airing, it would have been full of "starlight? The fuck? All that time and she was magic starlight that you only even bring up now? WHAT THE FUCK CHRIS CARTER, YOU SUCK!" and the like. And even then it wasn't immediately followed up with Mulder and Scully getting doomed to a life and death at the hands of nature and worse, bending over for it! Turns out that naive underestimating nature is a real pet peeve of mine, and while it is believable of a bunch of urbanites stuck in spaceships for years (though the whole unanimous agreement to it is a wall banger) the fact that from interviews I get that RDM also underestimates it that really frustrates me. It's that kind of thinking that leads to getting eaten by bears, people! Yeah, nature sucks, and will screw you over not because it is a robot with mommy issues but because it just does what it does. Wonder if Baltar will be talking about God being a force of nature when he's seeing nature up close.

...

So it turns out watching countless nature documentaries of lions eating zebra entrails while it's still alive all my life did probably have an effect on me.

So yeah, I'm still just a wee bit bitter ;). And that's not even going into the whole using "it's about the characters" to drop the hard to solve plot problems that came from screwing over the characters for cool plot points and then screwing over the characters for a cool plot point, and then getting the science of that cool plot point wrong.

I need a new fannish obsession to break my heart and make my old ones look good.

(And seriously Chris Carter, starlight?)

For going overdrawn by £1.50, the bank is charging me £38.

I hate banks!

I hate these two so frakking much!

Not the actors, who are awesome, or Caprica Six or Gaius, how are awesome or, well, Gaius. The Head Characters, or Angels or whatever.

SO. MUCH. HATE!

Smug, arrogant jerks! And I hate that the last of BSG was these two smugging it up, and that all the other characters were pretty much thrown under the bus to get that scene. Those two characters so needed taking down a peg and that didn't happen. In fact they won. Grrr.

Which is why I cannot buy the BSG God as a loving god, when these two are his agents (and there's also the whole destroying everyone and everything just to go play Intelligent Design, but that's another rant).

I feel better getting that of my chest.
