"Recount!" Saul's response was indignant when teacher read out his name. Ellen just stuck her tongue out at him.

"Settle down." Putting the two names to the side with the rest of the project pairs, Mr Cottle didn't even look up as he unfurled two more. "Or I have a detention with your name on it. Laura Roslin, and Tom Zarek.

Billy lifted his head from his desk and stared over. Tom was smiling at her. And Laura was smiling back!

"Bill Adama. And Gaius Baltar."

He sighed. But at least Gaius would shut up when he glared at him.

That was so cool...I just went back and read the rest of the Grade School fic--what a great, original idea! Love Cottle as the teacher. This plays out so real for the BSG characters and for 10 year olds in general :-)

I like the pairs you came up with. I'm quite certain that even schoolkid!Bill could glare Gaius into submission. The little bit of the Tom-Laura-Bill tension is great too. And Cottle! Basically, this drabble is awesome. :)

HAHAhahahahaha! Yes, Bill, at least that. Your glare will not work on Laura. Ever. It will only rile her further...which could work out well for you....after the initial onslaught of her wrath.
