Halloween!

My first attempt at doing something relatively complicated with a pumpkin. My childhood was spent hacking out turnips to make lanterns. But at least I could eat the raw turnip as I went. Hmmm, raw turnip.

And I love that you hacked turnips. How big are turnips? I always envisioned them very small.

And we did it uphill both ways! This was before you Americans and your pumpkins had taken over.

Scottish turnips are rutabagas, so make a lantern slightly smaller than a pumpkin. But they are tastier. SCOTTISH PRIDE!
