Doctor Who

Biggest shock of the night being that wasn't just a trolling fandom title like 'the Doctor's Daughter' turned out to be. No, it actually referenced actual, undeniable events. So it was a double trolling. Yes, River is his wife. Deal! Followed by trollface.
Also, River did not get Timey Wimey-ed out of existence, so yay!
On the whole, it was fine, but not as spectacular as last series. Unlike RTD, I don't get the feeling that Moffat was trying to one up last years universe-ending ending, instead it was more at the same level, though with fun historical cameos. Simon Callow as Shakespeare! That was awesome. And it wasn't shouting-at-telly inducing, so that is always a positive.
And after being a big cheat the reason the Doctor didn't pop in on Amy and Rory to say 'hey, not really dead,' in person was he was off having that last drink with the Brig. THAT IS CANON! That scene with the Doctor finding out about his death was a nice little tribute to the Brig, not over-dramatic but got across the loss and regret felt by the character and the folks behind the scenes for not getting him on when they had the chance. That and all the eyepatches.
And so the next arc gets all meta. Goddamn fanboys. And we have to wait God knows how long for the next series.
