Title: Dinner Distraction

“Pay attention Gaius,” she whispers in his ear, but it is the imaginary/real painful tug on his ear that pulls him to the present with a yelp. The other dinner guests don’t even look at him, apart from Ellen Tigh sitting across from him.
His ever present companion only sighs, and casually draping over him she flicks his fork, sending it in a showy arc to the floor.
“Ah, dropped my fork,” he states uselessly, and dives under after it, followed by the solid thump of head against table. It was worth it.
God bless underwear shortages!
Ellen simply smiles.
