Time to work!

Ok, time to begin weekend of writing nnnnnnow. Alright, now. Go. Go.

Oooo, Mythbusters *watches*.

Huh

My [livejournal.com profile] bsg_kink kink off thing is over a thousand words and I'm nowhere near the actual porn yet. And I though I'd be stuck trying to get the minimum seven hundred. It's even got a plot, a cracky plot but a plot's a plot.

It's too much to hope this productivity sticks around for November, isn't it.

To NaNo or not to NaNo

I'm torn, but 1667 words a day seems particularly scary this year. Though if I did manage it I could get another chunk of my epic nanowrimo novel from 2004 done, might even get it finished. Should probably think about rereading it to get prepared, then.

But I need to get my [livejournal.com profile] bsg_kink kink off fic done first, and I've not even started. But I did finally get my inspiration, which I predicted would happen once the sign up deadline for the actual kink off part. Oh well.

Where my brain is late to the party.

Why am I writing Mulder/Scully now of all times? Well, I should say trying to write, I always forget how painful writing fic is unless I am attempting to write it. Then I just want to smack my head against the keyboard and cry.

By the way, no gloating [livejournal.com profile] rachg82. You and your shipper germs.

I Write Like...everyone else.

Baa.

According to the thing, I write my kink like

I write like
Dan Brown

I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

...the horror! The horror!

Then I tried to imagine Dan Brown writing kink and my brain broke.

Then my [livejournal.com profile] resurrectiontub chapter came out as

I write like
James Joyce

I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

so I felt a little better (Dan Brown?! *cries*)

I put a random chunk of my Nano in and it came out as Dan Brown again, so in revenge I made it do the whole thing and it came out as

I write like
Chuck Palahniuk

I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

I don't know who that is. But its not Dan Brown.

"Look Ma, I'm writin'!"

Just over 500 words into my chapter for [livejournal.com profile] resurrectiontub and have still to hit my first plot point. This thing might end up mostly Cavil snark.

And God help me once Laura and Ellen are actually in the same room together.

Eurovision: Go Germany!

As all of Europe says "please don't call in our loans."

Personally I preferred Denmark's, but at least the winner sounded like it came from this century. Yes, UK entry, I am looking at you, though finding out that it was written by Pete Waterman it does suddenly all make sense. Sadly, it is no longer the 1980s. Maybe next year we should just send Rick Astley doing "Never Gonna Give You Up," and at least pull off the worlds biggest Rickroll if we must come last.

It is nice to see that it is possible for an "old Europe" country to still win it. And Germany should put on a good show next year, since they can afford it and all.

Though favorite bit of the night was the Interval thing. Not quite Riverdance, but still a fun, simple idea yet really effective. Even though with the UK pre recorded bit we showed that we couldn't do that right, either.

In other news, I have the writing vertigo again. Stupid brain.

Where did the day go?

Always with such plans to be productive, but then I get distracted by collecting little monsters to fight other monsters, or making little computer people do things like stop catching on fire. Sigh.

Drive By Memeing

Also drive by writing is hard moaning. It's driving me crazy again.

Year in Fic.

Yes, this year I actually wrote and posted some! 7737 words of them in spite of my severe mental block on writing about stuff I actually like. Mainly BSG with a tiny bit of X Files, with an almost shippy M/S thing much to my surprise.

7 Ficlets, 1 Oneshot, 1 WIP and a partridge in a pear tree )

Maybe next year I'll be able to shut up even more of those damn plot bunnies that continue to plague me.

Today is only word count spam...

...and it's only from yesterday as I got nothing done today. Oh ok, I did some real life stuff, made a horse head out of clay at art group, went to therapy and the sibling came around. Oh, and I spent far too long running around a virtual forest killing 40 virtual turkeys in a row (and only got it on a third attempt so it was probably more like 80).

But no writing. Hopefully will get lots done tomorrow.

41014 / 50000 words. 82% done!

And so it begins.

A "Previously on..." makes great word count padding.

Edited to add that I'm over the daily target of 1667 and that's with me still on the "previously" bit!

Oookay then.

Managed to transfer the old stuff over so I could actually read it today. Old Nano was just as full of crack as I remember, I had to resist editing as I read it (oh God so much wandering point of view!) but I think I'm ready for tomorrow!

Just need lots of sugar and tea and away I go.

My work ethic, let me show you it!

Things on today's list of easy things that should have been done but haven't: put 2004's NaNoWriMo on the flash drive and stick it onto the current pc so I can look over it, so when I continue it I know where I'm starting from. That does not bode well. Only two days to go. November is going to consist of me bitching about not reaching my word count, I can tell.

In other news, now you too can get RPattz in your pants! Those may be a joke item, but should people be giving the Twilight merchandising people any ideas?

The internet is for porn.

After giving in and writing some porny drabbles, the door is refusing to shut. I now have a longer Laura/Ellen thing annoying my brain. They are a fun if cracky pairing. Though the part of the brain that does the actual writing is being a lazy bitch and refusing to play ball.

A Productive Waste of Time.

Photobucket

This is what I do instead of writing. And actually those aren't up to date numbers now, completed a few more quests since then.

And I gave in and bought the whelp instead of farming it, my defence is that I would have started buying the pets earlier if the old server had had a decent auction house.

Writing continues to go unbelievably slowly. Why did I embark on a crazy fanfic of indeterminate length? Oh yes, I'm crazy, that's why.

Never too early to think about November...

Photobucket

No idea if I'll actually make it, I'm struggling with just getting out a paragraph a day just now, let alone 1667 words a day. But I've figured out how to end my 2004 story (actually won that year) and it would be nice to actually have something finished.

Granted, it'll need extensive editing to make both halves fit, due to plotlines getting added and dropped, and characters having sex changes.
