Alex Drake has a very bad day.
My ridiculously cheap Ashes to Ashes DVDs arrived, hooray! Another thing to rewatch, and having just watched episode 1 so far I can see there are lots of things I missed first go around. Like hidden scary clown *shudders*.

Meet Alex.
She's having a bad day.
First her creepy devil spawn daughter Molly wanders into the middle of a hostage situation and gets grabbed by creepy homeless guy...
...who then drags her down the stairs and shoots her. OMG!
Not really. PSYCH! Creepy Molly is safe (or is she...no it's just as it seems. Probably.) and creepy homeless guy has disappeared...
...And reappears in the back of Alex's car. Oh Alex, didn't you listen to all those serial killer campfire stories? You always check the back of your car. Anyway, now she has been captured by creepy guy.
Who shoots her. With added scary clown. Yep, that counts as a bad day.
WTF?
Not only getting shot in the head and finding herself with an unfortunate perm, Alex then gets bothered by this yuppie type...
...but wait!
Is that the sound of screeching tyres?
Only one man drives that recklessly.
Can it be?
It is!
Gene Hunt! And the man knows how to make an entrance.
And Ray and Chris! And it is good to see that Alex wasn't the only one attacked by the unfortunate perm monster.
Then Alex gets taken hostage by creepy yuppie, but thanks to some clever psychobabble she convinces him to give up.
Alex has enough of all this dealing with creepy people and getting shot in the head business, and decides unconsciousness is a good idea. She has just been shot in the head, it's allowed!
