Ficlet: Lost in Translation

“Merrily the little isotope diverges through the winter equinox where shadows turn the two degrees oxygen, stable fusion continue, end of line.”
“This still makes more sense than all those scientific briefings.”
“The box knows truth, thrusters online 2 point 6 seconds, seen or unseen the fish continues making the watch and always moving, reverse and open juncture.”
“In college, there was this boy in my literature class, he had green eyes and a thing for poetry. I had to sit through Gods know how many awful free verse recitals in increasingly shorter skirts before he could take a hint. I can‘t remember his name.”
“Stability remains, entropy of the system, cuts and dents they catch the light aluminium the weakest link.”
“I only saw him occasionally around campus after. He died five years after graduation. Accidental overdose, the papers said.”
“The ratio is insufficient to time passing until coming around again. How excellent the heaven, when earth cannot be had. A long long sleep a famous sleep that makes no show for dawn.”
“That almost sounds relevant, even if I do recognise those words. I can‘t argue with your taste.”
“Last in the box still remains. End of line.”

This was fun. I could actually picture this, if Laura was feeling really tired and overwhelmed with being in charge of that mission. I could see her just sneaking off and having her own one-sided conversation with the Hybrid.
