Damn you cheap DVDs!
Bought the first series of Ashes to Ashes from Amazon, damn tenner price was just taunting me. But it has Alex being rude to her "imaginary constructs" which was hilarious, and was understandably missing from series two. And I need something to watch since it'll be about a year until the third series is on the telly. The British system may result in quality over quantity (usually), but the waiting is a bitch. Still, being used to it did help with BSG's hiatuses from hell.
As for series three, I'm thinking it can go two ways, Alex has just gone deeper into the coma or she really did wake up and now has to put up with Gene on the telly until she goes back. Going deeper into the coma would be easier for the writers to resolve and then go back to the status quo, she just has to wake up in the 80s again and then try and wake up in the 2000s. But I like the idea of the format getting shaken up a bit. I am a bit wary of overestimating the writers, they are the people who came up with Bonekickers after all. And overestimating writers always leads to disappointment.
Expect the worse and be pleasantly surprised when it's not, you'd think I'd have learned that by now.
Another point of interest in series three is it's going to be set in 1983. Year of my birth!
